Specifications
CS110-48 at a Glance
Connectivity
48 gigabit access ports (10/100/1000Base-T) for the wired devices on your LAN, plus
4 SFP+ uplinks that run at 1G or 10G for fiber runs and multi-gig backhaul. Switching
capacity is 176 Gbps with a 32K MAC address table.
Cloud or Local Management
Manage it your way. Use Sophos Central for a single console across your firewalls,
access points, and switches, or reach for the local web interface, CLI, or SNMP.
Registration is as simple as entering the serial number in Central.
Security at the Access Layer
Cut down the attack surface with VLAN segmentation, port security, and DHCP snooping,
and add QoS where it counts. Registered in Central, it joins Active Threat Response to
isolate compromised hosts across your Sophos network.
Form Factor & Warranty
1U rack-mount with a console port and AC power. This is the non-PoE
model, so if you need to power APs, cameras, or phones, step up to the CS110-48P or CS110-48FP. Backed
by a limited lifetime warranty.
Not sure which Sophos Switch fits?
The Sophos Switch lineup runs from 8 to 48 ports across gigabit and multi-gigabit tiers, with PoE and
non-PoE options. Line them up side by side to match ports, uplinks, and power budget to your deployment.
No. The CS110-48 is the non-PoE model in the 48-port lineup, so it connects devices
but does not power them over the Ethernet cable. If you need to power access points, IP cameras, or
VoIP phones, choose the CS110-48P or the fully powered CS110-48FP instead. Not sure how much power
budget you need? Talk to a Sophos-certified expert and we will size it with you.
The CS110-48 has 4 SFP+ uplink ports that run at either 1G or 10G. That gives you
10-gigabit-capable fiber or copper backhaul to your core or distribution layer, so a rack full of
gigabit access ports does not bottleneck on the way up. You supply the SFP or SFP+ transceivers to
match your cabling.
You have four ways to manage it. Sophos Central gives you a single cloud console
alongside your other Sophos products, with virtual stacking and Active Threat Response. You can also
use the local web interface, the command line interface (CLI), or SNMP. Local web, CLI, and SNMP are
included in the purchase price; Central management comes with the Support and Services subscription.
The switch always works locally without it, and every unit ships with a limited
lifetime warranty. The Support and Services subscription adds Sophos Central management, firmware
updates, 24x7 multi-channel support, and advanced RMA. If it lapses or is never purchased, Central
drops to read-only, firmware updates stop, and phone and advanced RMA support are no longer available.
For most business deployments the subscription is worth it, and we can quote it per switch per year.
Yes. Sophos Central supports virtual stacking, which lets you create and manage a
group of switches as a single stack rather than one at a time. You connect the switches with standard
Ethernet, SFP, or SFP+ ports and can use Link Aggregation Groups (LAG) to add throughput and
redundancy. Virtual stacking requires a valid Support and Services subscription.
Yes. The CS110-48 supports up to 256 VLANs simultaneously out of 4096 VLAN IDs, along
with 802.1Q tagging, guest and voice VLANs, and dynamic VLAN configuration. Paired with port security
and QoS, that lets you segment traffic and keep voice, data, and guest networks apart at the access
layer.
