It is part of WatchGuard's Unified Security Platform, which means Wi-Fi management runs in the same WatchGuard Cloud portal used for firewalls, multi-factor authentication, and endpoint security. The subscription includes wireless intrusion prevention, captive portal, band steering, QoS policies, and rogue AP detection, all without requiring a separate on-premises wireless controller.
USP Wi-Fi Management supports the current WatchGuard access point lineup, including the AP130 for small offices, the AP330 for mid-size deployments, and the AP430CR for high-density or outdoor environments. Wireless Intrusion Prevention System, or WIPS, is included in the USP Wi-Fi Management subscription at no extra cost. Each managed access point continuously scans the RF environment for unauthorized devices. When a rogue AP is identified, the system can automatically contain it by sending de-authentication frames to prevent clients from associating with it. Alerts and event logs are visible in WatchGuard Cloud so your team can review and respond to wireless threats in context alongside other security events.

Subscriptions are available in 1, 3, and 5-year terms. The license covers all platform features including WIPS, captive portal, Smart RF, QoS, and cloud management. Hardware and subscription are sold separately.
