It depends on the product. Endpoint protection like Intercept X and services like Phish Threat and MDR are licensed per user, while server protection is licensed per server. Licenses are sold in user bands such as 1-9, 10-24, and 25-49 users, so you buy one subscription sized to your total user count rather than one copy per person.
Intercept X is the core endpoint protection that prevents attacks. Adding XDR gives your own team the tools to hunt for and investigate threats across endpoints, servers, email, and cloud. MDR goes a step further, with Sophos analysts doing that hunting and response for you 24/7.
Sophos Central products are digital. After your order processes, the license is provisioned electronically and the activation details are emailed to you, so there is nothing physical to ship.
Yes. We handle Sophos renewals and can quote a new term before your current one lapses. Send us your license or order number and we will confirm your coverage and pricing.
One subscription that covers your user count. Phish Threat is licensed per user in bands, so for 40 mailboxes you buy a single subscription in the band that includes 40 users, not 40 separate copies. That license lets you run unlimited simulations and training for those users all year.
Not if you already run Intercept X. Device Encryption uses the same Sophos agent, so you manage BitLocker and FileVault from Sophos Central with no extra software to deploy.
Server workloads, including Azure and AWS instances, are covered by Intercept X for Server, which is licensed per server rather than per user. You would license the server edition for those VMs, not the per-user desktop edition.
Yes. Every Sophos Firewall includes remote access VPN through the free Sophos Connect client, supporting both IPsec and SSL, so your remote workers can reach the network securely without a separate VPN license.
