The Switch 14-48-FPoE requires a minimum 12-amp power circuit, which is more than the
10-amp requirement of the other SonicWall switch models. With a 900W power supply and up to 885W of
maximum consumption under full PoE load, it is critical to verify that your rack PDU, circuit breaker,
and power wiring can support the draw before installation. In high-density deployments, dedicated
circuits for each switch are recommended.
Yes. The Switch 14-48-FPoE supports per-port PoE management including powering
individual ports on or off, setting a power class, defining a user-specific power limit per port, and
assigning a power priority level so that higher-priority devices receive power first if the budget is
constrained. Time Management Options also let you schedule when PoE is active on each port, which can
significantly reduce energy consumption during nights and weekends.
Yes. The Switch 14-48-FPoE supports SNMPv1/v2/v3 for monitoring by third-party NMS
platforms, syslog for centralized log collection, and LLDP/MED for device discovery. It can be
configured and managed entirely through its standalone web GUI or CLI without any SonicWall firewall.
However, full integration with SonicWall Network Security Manager or Wireless Network Manager provides
the richest management experience, including zero-touch deployment and centralized VLAN and security
policy push.
Yes. The Switch 14-48-FPoE is well suited for educational environments. Its 48 PoE+
