Fortinet 431F.
Indoor Tri-Radio Wi-Fi 6 Access Point
The FortiAP 431F is an enterprise-class indoor Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point with a tri-radio, 4x4:4
MU-MIMO design that includes a dedicated scanning radio for security and RF monitoring. With OFDMA, internal
antennas, and a 2.5GbE uplink port, it's built for high-density indoor spaces like large offices,
classrooms, and conference centers that need next-generation Wi-Fi capacity. Note: the FortiAP 431F is an
indoor-rated access point, not an outdoor or weatherproof unit — Fortinet's outdoor Wi-Fi 6 options
live in the separate FortiAP-U series.

Wondering if you need Wi-Fi 6?
Compare the Wi-Fi 6 431F against the 802.11ac Wave 2 421E and 423E to decide whether next-gen throughput
and OFDMA efficiency are worth the upgrade for your environment.
The FortiAP 431F is an indoor access point with internal antennas and T-rail ceiling
mounting. It is not rated for outdoor installation; Fortinet's outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access points are part
of the separate FortiAP-U series.
The 431F supports 802.11ax, also known as Wi-Fi 6, with a tri-radio 4x4:4 MU-MIMO
design including OFDMA and a dedicated scanning radio, while remaining backward compatible with
802.11ac and older clients.
The 431F can be powered by 802.3af or 802.3at PoE over its Ethernet ports, or by an
optional 12V/2.5A power adapter if PoE isn't available. Its 2.5GbE port supports full throughput while
the second GbE port adds PoE source diversity.
Yes. The 431F is managed centrally by the integrated WLAN controller on any FortiGate
firewall, or through Fortinet's FortiLAN Cloud provisioning and management portal.
In addition to its 2.4GHz and 5GHz client radios, the 431F includes a dedicated
dual-band scanning radio for continuous RF spectrum analysis and wireless intrusion detection, without
interrupting client traffic.
